Experimenta is Australia’s leading arts organisation dedicated to the production, presentation and promotion of Australian and international media artists. We are committed to creating engaging programs for our audiences and developing new audiences for media art across Australia.
The only agency in Australia dedicated to bringing media artworks to fruition, Experimenta commissions and supports artists to make new work and present it. Since its establishment in 2003, Experimenta’s International Biennial of Media Art consistently attracts over 200,000 people. The Biennial is a major curated survey exhibition of current media art works and tours Australia for 18 months following its launch. The exhibition is supported by an extensive public program including artist talks, symposia, workshops and film screenings. We also partner with some of Australia’s leading cultural organisations to present additional exhibitions, projects and events.
Established in 1986, Experimenta continues to lead the way in presenting experimental contemporary arts that engage with technology, providing unique experiences for our audiences.
