Mike Stubbs

Mike Stubbs is director and chief executive of FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), Britain’s centre for media and digital art. Jointly appointed by Liverpool John Moores University, he is Professor of Art, Media and Curating. Previously he was head of exhibitions at the Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI), senior research resident at Dundee University, based at the VRC (Visual Research Centre), and was founding director at Hull Time Based Arts (HTBA). Other initiatives include AVIDLAB (a digital media lab) and EMARE (European Media Arts Residency Exchange). He launched the International Root Festival in Hull and the Burning Bush Festival in Dundee.
Trained at Cardiff Art College and the Royal College of Art, Stubbs’ own internationally commissioned art-work encompasses films for broadcast, media installations for galleries and large scale projections for public environs.
